Supply Chain Management Head, Microbial

The Supply Chain Management Head role is created as part of the growth plans in Microbial Business Unit of Lonza Biologics to develop supply strategies and plans that enable the targeted strategic growth of the Microbial Business Unit and Biologics Division. This position will directly report to the Business Unit Head and has an active seat in the Microbial Business Unit’s Leadership team.
**The role can be based in either Visp or Basel. If Basel, then frequent onsite attendance in Visp will be required**
Key responsibilities:
Managing the end-to-end view of Supply Chain and providing oversight for demand and supply planning of all Microbial products and services
Defining planning and replenishment configurations and supporting a manufacturing supply strategy end to end (from gene to finished drug substance)
Developing and implementing the supply strategy for the existing and future asset footprint for the Business Unit
Identifying and closing gaps with the Lonza business process landscape (from raw material planning to procuring raw materials to effective revenue recognition)
Responsible for inventory management plans ensuring they are in line with the Business Unit and Division’s strategy, financial plans and facilitating the Inventory evolution over the long-term horizon
Responsible for the execution of Supply Chain operational excellence projects in collaboration with Site Supply Chain Head
Ensure efficient and effective Supply Chain business partnering between Commercial and Operations
Coordination of supply & demand and ownership of Business Unit’s Sales & Operations Plan.
Key requirements:
Proven track record in successful demand & supply planning and inventory management
Strong strategic thinking and business acumen
Recognized team player and successful in mastering impact creation in large matrix organizations
Demonstrated track record of implementing improvements and efficiencies in supply chain planning
Advanced experience in various Supply Chain functions related to operations management, production or technology management
Leadership experience
Experience of working in a Pharma Biotech and preferably in a service environment
