Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of core systems that power the platform's Planning, Scenario Modeling, and Analytics capabilities
• Drive the development of intra-system interoperability
• Execute the full software development lifecycle; technical analysis and design, development, and unit test phases
• Identify, deliver, and drive improvements and innovations within the software
• Work across the stack to successfully deliver value to customers
• Become a subject matter expert in travel and expense data and planning software systems
• Provide technical leadership and share knowledge, for instance, through code reviews, pairing, ADRs, and presentations

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in JavaScript database applications.
• Experience going from 0 to 1
• Building or using Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) systems
• Expertise in TypeScript
• Expertise in NodeJS, ReactJS, and Javascript
• Hands-on experience with database-centric applications
• We treat OLTP and OLAP databases as core application development platforms, not just places to store data.
• Expertise in SQL and with data-intensive, asynchronous, distributed systems
• Experience leading a project, team, or initiative

• Additional programming languages: Python, Rust, Java, Go, Haskell, Elixir, etc.
• Defining and upholding SLAs for operational processes you support
• Data Warehousing and ETL pipeline development: Airflow, Debezium, Databricks, etc.
• AI/ML forecasting algorithms
• Data Science
• Global, enterprise SaaS development
• Cloud platform providers: Vercel, Fly.io
• Report development in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau in particular, Power BI)
• Greenfield development: going from 0 to 1
• Working in an agile development environment using git and agile project management tools
• Learning other coding languages and patterns quickly

Compensation:

Gross $75,000 - $100,000 USD / yearly
