Precision Optics Technician/Feinwerkoptiker (m/w/d)

For expanding our R&D team of optical specialists in Zürich Seebach, we are looking for several experienced Precision Optics Technicians (Feinwerkoptiker/in).

About the role

  • Manufacturing of precision lenses (aspheres, freeform) on modern CNC machinery
  • (cementing, grinding, lapping, polishing, centering, etc.).
  • Metrology of precision optics (tactile, interferometric, etc.).
  • Process development.
  • Maintenance of equipment.
  • Participation in the organization of the workshop (orders, storage, etc.)
  • R&D work environment: Prototype and small series production. No high-volume mass manufacturing.
  • Part time work is possible.
  • Profile of qualifications

  • Completed professional education in the field of precision optics (Feinwerkoptiker/in EFZ) or several years of related experience in the precision optics industry.
  • Hands-on experience with grinding and polishing of spherical optics using CNC (preferably Satisloh).
  • Hands-on experience with characterization tools, e.g. profilometers, interferometers.
  • Knowledge of ISO 10110.
  • Fluent in English (level B1).
  • Following experience would be a plus

  • 3+ years hands-on experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing of aspherical or freeform optics.
  • Experience with plastic optics.
  • Knowledge of CAD design (preferably Autodesk Inventor).
  • Experience with optical coating deposition technologies.
  • Fluency in German.
