This role will manage a team of lead buyers, operational and project buyers managing CAPEX projects at Visp and possibly other European sites as and when needed. In additional to leading a team they will also be responsible for buying packages as and when needed including contracting and bid management – this is a hands-on doing role along with being a leadership role.
They will work closely with the following groups; category management, contracts and claims management, operational buying and other SGIE stakeholders like project controls and project managers.
The role will be responsible for a portfolio of CAPEX projects and will vary from project to project but could be professional services providers, process equipment, construction and fit-our and other CAPEX as and when required.
Key responsibilities:
Development of purchasing strategy and coordination of procurement activities for assigned investment projects. Strategic responsibility for a procurement volume of CHF 5m to 500m.
Procurement of supplies (systems, sub-systems, equipment and spare parts) and services (consulting, engineering and planning) for the assigned specialist areas or investment projects.
Definition and implementation of the procurement strategy as well as targets / department or supplier, taking into account the market situation and classification of products
Bundling of procurement measures within the plant and in conjunction with other Lonza sites
Preparation, conclusion and maintenance of framework agreements
Development of action plans, relationship management with suppliers, evaluation of new suppliers and management of strategic key account (supplier) activities
Optimization of LifeCycleCost (LCC) and reduction of material, transport, ancillary and follow-up costs
Coordination, lead or participation in projects to further the development and improve the efficiency of technical purchasing as well as to achieve common target
Key requirements:
Technical training (ETH or FH) or similar training; Preferred area of study: Process engineering, chemical engineering and plant engineering
Experience in plant construction as well as in the areas of purchasing, sales, contract management and project management
Languages: English excellent, German excellent
Project and procurement management
Team player with ability to work efficiently in matrix organizations and interdisciplinary teams
Excellent business mindset, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
