The Position
Diagnostics Strategic Finance Champion
Location: Basel; Switzerland
Reporting to the Head of Dia (Diagnostics) Strategic Finance, the Strategic Finance Champion leads a team of strategic finance partners supporting senior stakeholders across our Roche Diagnostics Division (including Strategy and Partnering Office organization), and actively plays a connector role between Roche Diagnostics Finance teams for divisional topics.
With a holistic, enterprise view, entrepreneurial mindset and strong business acumen, the Roche Diagnostics Strategic Finance Champion connects across the finance network to deliver financial and business insights to enable decision making.
Main role responsibilities:
Steer the overall Roche Diagnostics financial performance (short and long term): P&L, balance sheet, cash flow. Lead the discussions across the DIA Finance network to jointly achieve performance targets.
Act as finance business partner for the Diagnostics Strategy and Partnering Office and provide financial and thought leadership on strategic projects and partnering deals as appropriate.
Coordinate and steer cross-functional analyses and finance initiatives for the Roche Diagnostics Leadership Team, incl. close collaboration with senior executives.
Actively influence the implementation of the Diagnostics Strategy through short, mid and long term financial planning.
Instill an entrepreneurial mindset across Roche Diagnostics Strategic Finance and the broader Roche Diagnostics Finance network and communities.
Enable the generation of insights and outcomes by steering self-aligning teams and networks.
Network and align with the Roche Diagnostics finance organization partners to achieve the Roche Diagnostics performance goals.
Coach and develop the Strategic Finance partners, building a strong and diverse talent pipeline that enables exchange of talents.
Role model new ways of working (agile leadership) as well as behavioral capabilities needed for success.
Key skills:
Advanced degree in Finance/business administration or equivalent
10+ years of relevant professional experience across geographies, business functions and roles & 5+ years people leadership experience
Proven track record in Finance Partner experiences in a global and local organizations and deep/ broad Finance knowledge as well as good stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
Demonstrate broad finance knowledge and finance enterprise partner experience, and the ability to engage with stakeholders and manage their expectations as well as influence them and gain support for your ideas
Be an inspiring catalyst / connector with strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills and a true entrepreneurial mindset. Demonstrate understanding and experience of the key roles required to successfully lead in an agile organization
Excellent communication skills, including ability to synthesize, explain and present analytics and data as well as complex solutions to problem statements, incl. experience to present to senior executives
In addition to strong influencing skills, be able to effectively flex and navigate a complex, broad and diverse organization in matrixed structures
Ability to align, unify and lead virtual and diverse teams of direct and indirect reports
Idea generation and ability to see ideas through to action
Able to present data and ideas in a clear, concise and engaging manner
Strong learning agility and driving mindset to enable individual and team success
Fluency in English language, written and spoken
