At Instagrid you are part of the green-tech revolution by innovating the future of portable power supplies, helping professional workers worldwide stepping away from combustion generators and making it possible for them to experience a safe, efficient, clean and silent energy solution. As a Development Engineer specializing in Cable Assemblies and Connectors (f/m/d) you are end-to-end responsible for creating the best solutions for electrical interconnections between assemblies inside and outside of our products from the idea to manufacturing in high volumes. You are an integral part of our interdisciplinary engineering team where you link the domains of electrical and mechanical engineers and advocate for the electrical interconnections from the first sketch. Using CAD, you translate the created designs into drawings, build up prototypes and supervise validation testing before you implement the design into production. You will work on making our products better by
- designing and developing cable assemblies and selecting proper wire gauges, cable styles, and connectors according to internal requirements and relevant product standards
- working closely with CAD tools to create detailed assembly drawings and documentation while being the point of contact for related matters
- build prototypes and conduct testing to ensure product integrity and performance
- building and developing high-quality suppliers together with the operations team
- collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve design and production issues
- staying updated with the latest industry standards and advancements in cable and connector technology
Job requirements
- You have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- You have proven experience in the development of cable assembly solutions and the selection of connector design
- You have proficiency with CAD software and drawing specifications (SolidWorks is a plus)
- You have profound knowledge of industry standards for wire and cable products, harness assemblies, and connectors
- You have excellent interdisciplinary communication and teamwork skills
- You have a good command of English and German
