Automotive Radar Signal Processing Engineer
Zendar develops high-resolution radar imaging systems that enable next-generation safety features and driver-assistance technology that is reliable in all conditions and at sufficiently long range for high speed driving. Zendar has pioneered software-defined radar technology which fuses data streams from multiple sensors to build a more accurate scene and utilizes artificial intelligence models that interpret RF spectrum to understand the environment.
Zendar is headquartered in Berkeley, CA and has additional engineering offices in Germany and France.
Zendar has a diverse and dynamic team of electrical, mechanical, RF, algorithms and software engineers with a deep background in sensing technology. Backed by leading VCs and automotive Tier-1s, Zendar has raised more than $50M in funding and has established strong partnerships with industry leaders. Our team has more than doubled in number over the last year as our technology has gained traction.
We are looking for you to join our development team focused on automotive radar technologies. You are a hands-on person, who can architect radar pipelines and contribute to the development of embedded radar software.
The core elements of your work include:
- Oversee the development of the single radar pipeline for our semantic spectrum product
- Optimize the radar signal processing stack, from array design to algorithms development
- Ensure the radar system is production-ready and compute-efficient
- Serve as the primary signal processing contact for the Machine Learning team, who is architecting, training and deploying neural networks to extract semantic information out of the radar spectrum
- Contribute to projects involving smart radar sensors and/or zonal or central compute architecture
- Collaborate with partners and Tier 1 suppliers to adapt production-ready radar platforms and shape future generations
- Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer science, physics, or a comparable field of study
- Extensive experience (4+ years) in the development of automotive radar sensors and/or ADAS/AD systems
- Expertise in radar signal processing and algorithms
- Strong software skills in C++ and python
- Ability to work independently, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and cross-departmental collaboration abilities
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
Bonus Points
- Professional experience in working with Tier1 suppliers, OEMs, and/or semiconductor manufacturers
- Experience in the application of radar SoCs
- Experience in the series development of automotive components or systems
- German language skills
- Opportunity to make an impact at a young, venture-backed company in an emerging market
- Competitive salary plus share options
